I want to start by saying that I'm sorry I'm a day late getting this out. Our computer picked up a virus that is making blogging difficult.
This was such a fun project for me. My original goal was to spend $5 (pre-tax) on donations for Graceworks, using a list of their current needs. I kept a running total of my expenses after rebates, coupons, etc...
The results surprised me! I won't detail every purchase but the following scenario will help you to understand my final result. I purchased 4 bottles of juice for $3.92. Then I purchased 4 razors at a profit of $1 each. So, I had a deficit of .08 after both purchases. The end result was that I couldn't spend all $5. I actually ran out of time before I could spend everything. My net spending for this challenge was .20
I contemplated filling out the rest of the $5 with full price stuff. However, Graceworks will still have needs tomorrow and that $4.80 can go a long way. So, I'm hanging onto it. It's just unbelievable to me that you can spend so little and share so much. My budget may not be big, but I feel rich!
