As you can see, I've purchased quite a few cans of biscuits! I was excited to read on Southern Savers that they freeze well. I put all of mine in the vegetable crisper drawer for now, as we are eating mostly frozen veggies this time of year. When they get closer to date, I will move any leftovers to the freezer. So what am I going to do with this many biscuits?
Here are some of my off the top ideas:
- Biscuits and Gravy
- Mini Biscuit Pizza
- Chicken Pot Pie Filling Over Biscuits
- Biscuit Wrapped Hot Dogs
- Garlic Butter Brushed Biscuits for Italian Dinners
- Roll into long ropes to make letters (good preschool activity)
But that's not even going to make a dent in our biscuit collection, so I went in search of some yummy looking biscuit recipes. Here are some links to recipes from Pillsbury:
Maple Cream Coffee Treat--This recipe calls for Golden Layers biscuits, but I'll bet you could make a decent dish w/ plain buttermilk biscuits or crescent rolls.
Bake--This one uses Grands, but I would try it with two of the small cans of buttermilk biscuits.
These are super easy and could be made with just about any kind of biscuit (and your kids will love you for it)
Again, I would try these with the recommended Grands or two of the small cans of buttermilk biscuits.
Here is another one that is bound to make you a hit with the preschool set. Anybody have any creative ideas about what to use to cut out the eyes? I don't think they make cookie cutters that small!
