I recently created a Publix organizer to carry in my purse. I thought going over the parts of the organizer might help you get more out of your Publix shopping.
Warning: Some aspects of this series are more advanced Publix couponing. If reading this post gives you a headache, I would recommend bookmarking it and coming back to it later. If you missed the first two parts of the series, you can find them here:
Sections 3 and 4: Low Cost or Free w/ Coupons
The Advantage Buy promotions often produce deals that are free or nearly free with coupons. These promotions last nearly a month. Each time a new AB flyer comes out, I find the coupons that will yield a free or nearly free item and place them in this section.
Sometimes, you will need to stack a Publix store coupon with a manufacturer's coupon in order to get these deals. In those situations I paperclip the two coupons together before placing them in my organizer.
I use these coupons throughout the month. These are great for increasing my total for penny items or $ of $$ deals, without increasing my overall OOP. In other words, if I need $10 worth of merchandise to get the penny item, but I only have $7 worth, I might pull out a set of store/manufacturer's coupons for an item totaling $3. Voila! I now have enough to get the penny item.
